getting back to regular blogging now

sorry the last couple of days have been draining emotionally

I saw this on my facebook feed, shared by the Being Liberal page.

As a liberal and an Oklahoman, this absolutely disgusts me.  Karma has NOTHING to do with the tornado that happened yesterday.  It’s fucking mother nature and she will do what she wants to do.  Yes, I know, this should be considered irony, but this is not a time for finding ironic situations nor is it a time to politicize this.  They are still rescuing people from under rubble more than 24 hours later.  Thousands and thousands of people don’t have homes, and some of those people may even be liberals who didn’t vote for these dumbasses and this kind of ‘haha look what happened to oklahoma let’s bring up the fact that their reps and senators didn’t vote for relief for Sandy!’ attitude is the absolute last thing on their minds.  Two schools were completely demolished WITH CHILDREN INSIDE OF THEM and do you think help from FEMA could have saved their lives?  NO BECAUSE IT WAS A FUCKING TORNADO.

As a side note, Oklahomans stick up for each other.  Where there is pain and death and destruction, help will be on its way in a split second.  Oklahoma-based companies have donated nearly $10 million dollars to relief funds.  Donations are coming in by the truckload.  So many people are volunteering in the makeshift triages set up.  Two universities (including my own) have opened their dorms to people displaced by the tornado.  Churches across the metro and across the state are taking anything to the victims.  My mom and I went by Walgreens after work today and we bought $100 worth of goods to bring to a church, and when we walked into the room they were keeping the donations in we were flabbergasted by the amount of donations that were already there.

I started crying because I love this state.  I love where I am from.  Sometimes I feel out of place because of my liberal views and my lack of religious beliefs, but in times like these those things don’t matter anymore.  Politics don’t exist when something like this happens, because we all know what we need to do to help.

So, fuck you Being Liberal for being insensitive dickheads.

Oh no «33

Yeah all of it is still surreal.  I’m glad they’re showing it over the national news all the time because the more help the better, I just hope tons of people donate to the Red Cross because there are many without homes and without their children and it just breaks my heart.

Seven confirmed children dead at Plaza Towers Elementary, and rescuers are expecting to find as many as thirty more bodies

They keep releasing more information and I just keep crying, this is unrelenting.  I’m so glad it didn’t get anywhere near where I live, but I just can’t believe anything could happen like this in a place that I know so well.    Everything is so unreal.

After about twenty minutes of the tornado hitting a hospital in Moore, people started looting the place for computers and the like.

WHAT THE UNGODLY FUCK

I hope those people realize that they are the scum of the earth

Damage caused to an elementary school in Moore. There are probably still children trapped inside.

If you’ve never seen what a tornado can do, here you go.

30 square mile wide path of destruction

4 confirmed fatalities, including a man, woman, and a seven month old baby

I’m home alone and crying and I have no idea what to do with myself
